About Us

Tell me about your business.

Gladly! We opened our doors in downtown Tecumseh, Michigan in 1997. Over the course of the last fifteen years, we've outgrown our location twice and become one of the largest quilt shops in Michigan! Our 7,700 square feet of quilt bliss houses over 7,000 bolts of 100% cotton quilting fabric, 200+ samples, oodles upon oodles of kits, and a class room with a capacity of thirty sewing machines.

Do you have a physical store?

We sure do! Our 7,700 square foot shop's located right in the heart of downtown Tecumseh, Michigan. If you're planning on visiting us, take a look at this map for directions and learn more about us!

How many people work at The QP?

Three full-timers and seven part-time gals round out the The QP's team. Everyone but the "computer girl" is an avid quilter, but each brings something unique to the table. Some have been quilting for decades while others are QP-students-turned-teachers and -pattern designers! You can read about all of us on The QP Team page.

Do you sell your own patterns?

Kathy Seal, owner of The Quilt Patch, started a pattern companyQP Quilts & Co.in 2011. You can both learn more about QP Quilts & Co. and purchase patterns on our website.

What time zone are you in?

We're in the Eastern Time Zone (ET).

What are your business hours?

We're open Monday and Wednesday from 9am to 5pm; Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9am to 8pm; Saturday from 10am to 4pm; and Sunday from 12pm to 4pm.

Not at all! Though there are lots of benefits to signing up for an account, you'll never be required to have an account to place an order with us.

How do I update my personal information?

Firstly, sign in to your account. Next, click the My Account link at the top of the page. Lastly, click the Update Info button to go to the Update My Account page. After you've made all of the necessary changes, click the Save Changes button (beneath the billing section).

How do I change my email address?

How do I view my order history?

Once you're signed in to your account, click the My Account link at the top of the page. All of your current and past orders will be listed beneath your shipping and billing information.

Troubleshooting

Help me! I can't log in!

Don't worrywe can help! If you can't remember what email address is linked to your account, email or call us and we'll figure it out in no time flat. If you don't remember your password, select the Forgot Password? link on the sign in page. From there, it's easy peasy!

I forgot what email address I registered with. Help!!

I forgot my password. What do I do?

Don't fret! Resetting your password is as easy as clicking a button (or two). Click My Account here or at the top of any page and select "Forgot Password?". From there, it's waaaay easy—just enter your email address, click "Recover Password" and check your email for the link to quickly reset your password.

I received an error message after I tried to add yardage to my bag. What happened?

We most likely have less fabric in stock than the amount you tried to order. Try adding an amount less than your original quantity to your bag or call us to find out exactly how much is available. You can also send us an email, but bear in mind there's a chance someone could swoop in and buy the fabric before we reply.

Shopping

What is the minimum amount of yardage I can buy?

The minimum cut on yardage is just a 1/4 yard (entered as a decimal)!

Is yardage sold in certain increments?

Yardage can be purchased in 1/4-yard increments. For example, if you'd like to order 4-3/4 yards of a single fabric, type 4.75 into the quantity box. If you have any special instructions or questions, contact us or write a note to us in the comments section on the checkout page.

Do I enter fractions or decimals in the quantity box when ordering non-whole-yard amounts of cut fabric?

Our system only recognizes decimals. For instance, if you'd like to order 2-1/4 yards of a single fabric, enter 2.25 in the quantity box.

Do patterns come bundled with your kits?

No, patterns are not included with kits (unless otherwise stated in the item description). We choose to sell the kit and pattern separately so quilters looking to buy and make multiple kitted-projects don't have to buy numerous copies of the same pattern.

When ordering from other websites, I've been shorted on fabric. Am I getting exactly thirty-six (36) inches of fabric when I order a yard?

We know it's necessary to square up fabric when cutting so we always give you an inch or two of wiggle room.

I received an error message after I tried to add yardage to my bag. What happened?

How do I get a coupon code?

When we're offering them, coupon or promo codes can be found in many places! Most commonly, they're listed in emails to subscribers and on the homepage of our website. (If you aren't getting our newsletters yet, sign up now!) If you're not into email, either liking our Facebook page or following us on Twitter will make you first in line to know about both current and upcoming sales/coupons! If you're having trouble applying a coupon code to your order, try signing in to your account.

How accurate are the colors on your website?

We do our darndest to reproduce accurate images of our fabrics, kits and other items. We also fully understand the importance of both color and sizing, but please know that it's impossible to exactly match gorgeous, makes-you-weak-in-the-knees fabric to the flat image shown on your device's screen. If you have any questions about a particular fabric or item, contact us!

I'm still unsure about the exact shade of fabric. What should I do?

The easiest way to make sure a certain fabric is exactly what you're looking for is to order a 1/4 yard (our minimum cut). Of course, you can always contact us and we can help you determine if two fabrics match or work well together.

Do you offer gift wrapping services?

We don't currently offer this service. Nevertheless, if you have any special requests for your order, please contact us and we'll do our best to help you out!

Ordering

How can I place an order?

Orders can be placed online, by phone at (517) 423-0053 or at our brick-and-mortar location in Tecumseh, Michigan.

What forms of payment do you accept?

The Quilt Patch accepts Discover, MasterCard and Visa. Of course, if you're shopping at our brick-and-mortar location, we also welcome cash, checks and traveler's checks as payment.

Where is the security code on my credit card?

The three-digit code is found on the back of your card to the right of the signature box. If you can't see it, try using these handy graphics.

Will an item sold for one price in-shop sell for a different price online?

Occasionally, we run web-exclusive sales and specials. In these cases, the in-shop and online prices of certain items may differ. If you'd like to be kept up-to-date on these deals, sign up for our email newsletter and follow us on Facebook.

I live in Canada. Will my order be calculated in Canadian or United States currency?

Since we're based in the United States, all of our orders are processed in USD.

One of the items I want to buy is backordered. What does that mean and what do I do now?

A backordered item is merely one that's in high demand and hard to keep in stock. If one of the items you're looking to buy is backordered, you have two options: you can stalk our website, wait for the item to be back in stock, and then buy it at a later date; alternatively, you can add the backordered item to your bag, pay for it now, and we'll send it to you as soon as it arrives. How will I know my order went through?

You'll receive an email confirming that we've received your order soon after you click "Submit My Order". If you don't receive an email from us within three hours of placing an order, first check your junk and spam folders. Still not seeing anything from us? Shoot us an email or give us a call to confirm your order.

Shipping

Do you offer free shipping?

YES! We offer free shipping on all U.S. orders over $150! To be eligible for free shipping, the total before sales tax and after coupons must be greater than or equal to $150. (The order must also be shipped to an address in the United States.) All orders that take advantage of the free shipping deal will be sent in the most economical way. If you'd like to decline our free shipping offer in order to expedite the delivery of your order, select one of the other methods listed under the drop-down menu in the shipping section on the checkout page.

I live close to The QP. Can I just pick up my order in-shop?

You sure can! When checking out, select "Free In-Shop Pickup" from the drop-down menu in the shipping section. (If someone other than you will be picking up the order, please enter his/her name and phone number in the Comments section on the checkout page.) A valid photo ID and the order number will be needed at the time of pick-up. The minute your order's ready, we'll send you an email. Like all other orders placed through our online shop, the order will be ready within twenty-four (24) hours of the order being received with the exception of (1) backordered items, (2) orders placed after 3pm ET on Friday afternoon, (3) orders placed on the weekend and (4) orders placed the day before or on the day of a holiday.

How much does shipping cost?

Our checkout calculates real-time United States Postal Service (USPS) shipping rates and options during checkout so you'll never be charged any mysterious, extra charges like handling fees. The cost of shipping is based on the weight of your order, your location and the shipping method selected during checkout. (Essentially, that means you'll NEVER pay $4.95 in shipping for a single pattern!) Depending on the amount of fabric being purchased or the weight of your order, you may also be offered the option of flat-rate shipping.

Do you ship to my country?

If you live in the United States or Canada, yes! Regrettably, if you live in any other country, we're not shipping to you yet. (If you fall into the latter category and see something you've just gotta have, email us and we'll see if it's possible to work something out.)

How will I know if my order's been shipped?

You'll receive an email as soon as your order's on its way to you! If your order was placed over forty-eight (48) hours ago and you haven't received anything confirming the order, shoot us an email.

When will my order be shipped?

Orders placed before 3pm ET on weekdays will be shipped the same day! If you placed an order over the weekend, it'll be shipped out on Monday (if it's not a holiday). We ship all orders within twenty-four (24) hours of the order being received with the exception of (1) backordered items, (2) orders placed after 3pm ET on Friday afternoon, (3) orders placed on the weekend and (4) orders placed the day before or on the day of a holiday.

How long will it take to get my order?

Delivery times will vary based on the shipping method selected. We ship all orders within twenty-four (24) hours of the order being received with the exception of (1) backordered items, (2) orders placed after 3pm ET on Friday afternoon, (3) orders placed on the weekend and (4) orders placed the day before or on the day of a holiday.

I placed my order at 4:30pm on a Friday. When will my order be shipped?

At the latest, your order will be shipped the following Monday (if it's not a holiday).

How will holidays affect my order?

If you placed your order the day before or on the day of a holiday, it will be shipped the following regular business day.

Returns & Exchanges

What is your no-hassle return policy?

If you're not totally satisfied with your order, most products can be returned if unused, unopened and/or undamaged within thirty (30) days of the order date. Items must be in re-sellable condition except in the case of defects. Please note that if we make an exception by accepting a return after the thirty-day period, you may be issued store credit instead of a refund.

We want you to be completely happy with your shopping experience so please don't hesitate to contact us if you have a question, issue, comment or concern. Heck, you can drop us a line just to say "hello"!

Can I return fabric?

Unfortunately, fabric is not returnable. If you have any questions about a particular fabric or item, contact us! We do our darndest to reproduce accurate images of our fabrics, kits and other items. We also fully understand the importance of both color and sizing, but please know that it's impossible to match gorgeous, makes-you-weak-in-the-knees fabric to the flat image shown on your device's screen. When in doubt, give us a shout!

Can I return books and patterns?

Due to copyright laws, books and patterns cannot be returned. This policy is in place to protect the intellectual rights of the authors. If you have a question about a specific book or pattern prior to purchasing it, feel free to contact us. We take pride in knowing our products inside and out so we should be able to help you decide if an item's right for you. (This goes for the rest of our products as well!)

Can I return something I bought on sale?

Refunds are not given for sale, discounted or clearance items.

Can I return an unused eGift card?

eGift cards are not returnable.

What if I need to exchange something?

Before shipping anything back to us, please contact us to let us know there's an issue with your order.

Classes

Do you offer online classes or clubs?

Unfortunately, we don't at this time, but it's definitely something we plan to do in the future! However, we've taken a step toward online learning with our YouTube tutorials and demonstrations. Watch all of our videos on our YouTube channel! Of course, you can also take classes and participate in clubs all year-round in-shop!

Do you have a list of your upcoming classes?

Sure thing! We have calendar of all of our classes and events here on our website.

I want to take one of your upcoming classes. Can I pay for it online?

Oh no! We go over our patterns with a fine tooth comb before they ever see the light of day but, unfortunately, sometimes errors slip through the cracks. Do you sell QP Quilts & Co. patterns wholesale?

All of our patterns are copyright-protected.
